Potential of Red Betel Leaf Extract (Piper crocatum) and Siwak (Salvadora persica) Against Staphylococcus Aureus Bacteria

Background. One of the bacteria that cause oral cavity infection is Staphylococcus aureus. This study aims to explore antibacterial potential red betel extract and siwak against aureus bacteria, in vitro.
 Methods. research an vitro experimental assess diameter inhibition zone leaf The was made from simplicia wood with a dose 50% each. bacterial suspension by taking one pure colony test tube. Data analysis performed using SPSS version 25 software.
 Results. Red showed largest zone, namely 9.1 ± 0.68 mm. Meanwhile, smaller 7.9 One-way ANOVA there significant difference between diameters zones each group.
 Conclusion. extracts are greater inhibiting growth than extract.
